Kia Sorento: Rear Bumper Replacement

Kia Sorento (XM, 2011-2015) Service Manual / Body (Interior and Exterior) / Bumper / Rear Bumper Replacement

•	Pry the trim off using a plastic trim tool and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.

•	Put on gloves to protect your hands.

•	Take care not to scratch the body surface.

1.	After loosening the mounting screws, then remove the rear combination lamp (A).

2.	Disconnect the rear combination lamp connector (A).

3.	Loosen the rear bumper upper mounting clips and screw.

4.	Loosen the rear bumper lower mounting clips.

5.	Loosen the mounting bolts.

6.	Disconnect the rear bumper main connector (A).

7.	After loosening the mounting screws and clip, then remove the rear mud guard (A).

8.	After loosening the rear bumper side's mounting screw and clip, then disconnect the side's.

Remove the rear bumper assembly (C).

(1)	Hold the upper (A) and lower parts (B) of the rear bumper assembly with your hands.

(2)	Push the lower parts of the bumper and pull the upper in the direction shown by the arrows (1).

(3)	Disengage the other claws in the direction shown by the arrow (2) by pulling back the bumper and shaking it up and down.

•	The 6 claws (A) hold the rear bumper, so when removing the rear bumper (B), be sure not to damage it.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

•	Make sure the connector is connected properly.

•	Replace any damaged clips.
